Presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday called for a revolution—not the chaotic one but a revolution against poverty.

Pacquiao urged his supporters to make the elections' day a day of revolution of the masses by voting for him in the position to lead the country.

He made the pronouncement as he said he was inspired by the huge crowd that greeted him at his campaign rally in Samar.

"Itong laban ni Manny Pacquiao, lagi kong sinasabi ito ay rebolusyon para sa mga mahihirap para mabigyan sila ng pansin (Manny Pacquiao’s fight is a revolution for the poor so that they will be given due importance)," he said.

In a press conference, the lawmaker expressed confidence that he would get large support from the D and E classes and believed their votes would defeat the lack of support or endorsements from local government officials.

He even cited President Dutere's case, which had a landslide victory in the last elections despite not getting the support of the incumbent officials.

"Panahon na para ang mga mahihirap naman ang manalo (It's time for the poor to win)," Pacquiao said, adding his bid is "a revolution of every Filipino to have better lives."

"Tapusin natin iyong mapagsamantala. Kasi sa totoo lang, dito sa ating bansa ang mga yumayaman ay iyong mga nasa posisyon lamang (Let's put to an end those who are abusive. Here in our country, those who are in the position are just the ones who get rich)," he noted.
