Palace urges probe of shooting incident vs Ka Leody in Bukidnon

Malacañang on Tuesday condemned the reported shooting incident against the camp of presidential aspirant labor leader Ka Leody de Guzman in Bukidnon.

In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said "violence has no place in any civilized society."

The Palace then urged authorities "to conduct a thorough investigation and prosecute those behind this dastardly act."

On Tuesday night, de Guzman said in a Twitter post that several armed men fired upon them while conducting a meeting with several tribesmen, farmers and other locals. Two people were wounded.

The tribesmen supposedly complained about the land grabbing incident in their community.
