The Diocese of Tarlac has appealed to candidates in the May 2022 polls to turn off their campaign jingles when in the vicinity of churches.
"Please advise your supporters and campaign personnel to turn off their campaign jingles when passing around churches," the Diocese of Tarlac said in a Facebook post.
"We appeal for respect to be given to all places of worship as there are sacraments and prayers being held inside, especially on Sundays," it further read.
Last month, the Malolos Cathedral also issued the same appeal to bets and their supporters.
"Kindly turn off or lower the volume of your campaign jingles so that the faithful will not be distracted in their prayers," it said.
The campaign period for national candidates started Feb. 8 while for local candidates it started March 25.
