“This affirms the unwavering support of Filipino women and the people for our consistent advocacy for lower prices of oil and goods and for an end to sexual violence and abuse. This is despite the massive red-tagging and troll operations unleashed against us, and the entry of numerous partylists backed by political dynasties, big businesses and the military,” said Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas in a statement on Wednesday, April 6.

About 82 percent of the 2,400 participating likely voters sampled by the survey expressed support for a party-list.

Of the 82 percent, Gabriela garnered 2.66 percent of voter’s preference, surpassing the 2 percent voter preference threshold needed to win one congressional seat.

“The intensified red-tagging and black propaganda directed against us have utterly failed to dissuade the people from choosing the Gabriela Partylist in the surveys, at a time when our advocacies for lower prices and against violence against women and children are even more relevant and more pressing,” Brosas added.

Despite being the target of red-tagging by entities such as the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the party-list saw a 0.35 percent increase in voter preference.

In fact, just a month earlier, Gabriela got 2.31 percent of voter preference in the Pulse Asia's February survey.
