Rainy weather is expected over Mindanao and parts of Visayas due to a low pressure area (LPA) that is embedded within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday afternoon, March 26.

The LPA was estimated at 395 kilometers east of General Santos City as of 3 p.m.

Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Bohol.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to occasional heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather apart from isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant as severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Severe thunderstorms are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours.
