The low pressure area (LPA) east-southeast of Davao City will continue to bring rains over several parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, March 8.

PAGASA said the LPA was last spotted 100 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City, Davao del Sur at around 3 a.m.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours.

However, moderate to at times heavy rains may affect Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate, Romblon, Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" may bring light rains over Cagayan Valley.

Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light monsoon rains may also prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
