A man allegedly engaged in “sextortion” activity has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during an entrapment operation in Naga City.

The NBI identified the arrested suspect as Nestor Noel Penas who was arrested at a hotel room in Naga City last Feb. 13 by operatives of the NBI’s Naga District Office (NBI-NADO).

In a statement, the NBI said “the operatives were able to seize one (1) video recording device, three (3) smart phones, and one (1) tablet.”

“Subject Penas was presented for inquest proceedings before the Naga City Prosecutor’s Office for violations of Article 288 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009),” it said.

The NBI said the operation was conducted based on the complaint of a female victim who alleged that “the subject is forcing her to meet with him to have sexual act.”

“According to the sworn statement of the victim, she met the subject thru a friend sometime in November 2021 when Victim was in need of money,” it said

It also said that the suspect recorded his sexual act with the victim without her consent.

“Victim added that sometime on January 2022, Subject Penas threatened the victim that if she will not give in to his demand, Subject will divulge to the friends of the victim about their sexual activities,” the NBI said.
