Marcos: Election is a 'very good anti-dynasty rule'

There is no other way to defeat political dynasties but the elections, presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said.

During One PH's Sa Totoo Lang interview on Monday night, Jan. 24, , Marcos Jr. implied he is not against a political dynasty because if you are against it "then take everybody to an election, fight against" it.

"We have a very good anti-dynasty rule, it’s called an election," he said.

"Ilang nakita nating malalaking pamilya na ilang taon nang nakaupo hanggang 3rd generation na nakaupo bilang mayor, na biglang natanggal, dahil ayaw na ng tao eh (We have seen a lot of big families whose members have been in the government office up until the 3rd generation, but are eventually dethroned because people don't like them anymore)," he added. "Ang politika naman (Politics) is about performance."

Marcos Jr. said "dominant political families are not necessarily bad," so "why will you make them illegal?"

"You’re targeting a very very specific group in society and your law is only targeting them. What about other people? " he added.
