ICYDK: Colette’s Buko Pie now sells ube cheese tarts, yema cake, and more

There is more to the brand than its classic buko pie

When we are talking about iconic pasalubong, buko pie is definitely one of the top items on the list. And among the best places to get it from is homegrown brand Colette’s Buko Pie. But did you know that apart from the luscious buko treat, the brand has also introduced new sets of products, and that includes a mouthwatering ube cheese tart?

If you’re a fan of the ube cheese pandesal, this new treat serves the same goodness only through mini pie crusts. How delicious is that? “They are tarts made of pie crust with an ube halaya and cream cheese filling and cheese toppings. They have a salty and sweet flavor profile,” the brand tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle.

Released in late 2021, the ube cheese tarts, as well its other new products like egg tarts, buko tarts, and yema cake, were the last projects of Colette dela Cruz, the inspiration behind the brand’s name, before her unfortunate passing due to COVID-19 last September 2021.

The ube cheese tarts are priced at P180 per box (six pieces) and are available in the main branch in San Pablo, Laguna, and select Colette’s stores in Tagaytay, Calamba, and Los Baños.
