Mass formation psychosis

ONE FOR THE ROAD

James Deakin

Three words that recently broke the internet. So much so, that even Google, the self proclaimed arbiters of truth and default online moral compass of the World Wide Web, couldn’t censor it fast enough.

It all started after Dr. Robert Malone, one of the inventors of the mRNA technology that underpins the vaccines we now use for COVID, went on the Joe Rogan podcast (literally the biggest podcast on earth, with an audience larger than all the major mainstream news networks in the United States combined) catapulted those key words into search history infamy.

So what is it? According to Malone, who cites Dr. Mattias Desmet’s work as a professor of Clinical Psychology at the Ghent University, in Belgium, it is a phenomenon that happens when people are hypnotized into obedience, just like they were in Nazi Germany, or in numerous suicide cults. In psychological terms, this mass hypnosis is known as mass formation, and according to professor Desmet it’s happening again, this time with the global COVID response.

If you’ve ever wondered why once tolerant and compassionate people (even within your own family) have turned on each other and are advocating for the segregation of vaccinated and unvaccinated people—even suggesting they be arrested and denied medical treatment, despite both groups being  capable of getting it, spreading it and yes, even dying from it — Desmet points to this phenomenon as an explanation.

The formation requires four conditions for it to take root:

  1. The masses must feel alone and isolated. This happened even before COVID, where we were mostly buried in our phones already, but has only intensified during lockdown.

  2. Their lives must feel pointless and meaningless. While this is quite obvious for some now because there’s no certainty or predictability of the outcome of this pandemic, it was preempted and exacerbated by years of social media abuse that has led to narcissism, sociopathy, addiction and mental illness. So we were ripe for the picking.

  3. The masses then must experience constant free-floating anxiety, and;

  4. They must experience free-floating frustration and aggression.

This has been described as the most painful of all anxieties because it simply means there is no discernible source for the anxiety or aggression.

Think about your life under the last two years of lockdown. For many, nothing seems to make sense anymore. Institutions that were once revered have been exposed as puppets for big pharma; key medical figures who were once hailed as saints have been caught lying about the source of the virus and funding the gain of function research that may have even led to this entire outbreak, and now, for the first time in history, people are blaming the inefficiency of a medicine on the people who haven’t taken it.

And so, with all this madness and free floating anxiety and aggression, the person begins to irrationally crave a remedy, no matter how absurd or destructive it may be.

“When you have a society that has become decoupled from each other and has free-floating anxiety in a sense that things don’t make sense, we can’t understand it, and then their attention gets focused by a leader or series of events on one small point just like hypnosis, they literally become hypnotized and can be led anywhere.”

Now you can fill in the blanks from here as to what that small point of focus now is. I don’t want to get into it anymore because I’m sick of the mass hysteria and the labeling that ensues — regardless of which side of the fence I sit.

But for the benefit of those who can still think for themselves, I’ll just say this: for the record, I’m double jabbed. My whole family is double jabbed. I have appeared in PSA videos by the DILG and the City of Manila encouraging folks to get the vaccine, and I still think it’s a good idea. But that’s where it ends. I do NOT support mandatory or forced vaccinations and/or open discrimination of those who choose not to. Contrary to what some of the radicals will have you believe, you can actually be both.

I also believe that while the vaccines are not as evil as the anti vax extremists point out, I also don’t believe they are anywhere near as effective as the other side claim them to be. You don’t need to be a doctor or scientist to see that in the same way you don’t need to be a meteorologist to know when it’s raining. I believe that somewhere along the line, despite offering better protection from severe symptoms, they stopped being pushed entirely for health reasons, but by political or corporate ones. Not everything is as black and white as they want you to think.

The biggest problem with society now is that they think in binaries. If you’re not this, then you have to be that. Yet nothing could be further from the truth. Humans are made up almost entirely of nuance. It’s what gives us our individualism and humanity. You want to kill humanity? Kill their individualism. Kill their power to think and dream and feel for themselves. Assign them a thought, and punish them for questioning it.

As the famous author Ian Watson recently said, "If you have to be persuaded, reminded, pressured, lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalised to gain your compliance — you can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest.”

Seeing through this requires an open mind and a lack of fear, bias and hatred. I mean think about it. If we were always told to never to do your groceries on an empty stomach because you will overspend, how much more should we be encouraging people to not make life threatening decisions under duress and/or fear?

So simply put, I’m neither pro or anti; I support critical thinking and I believe that the final say lies with the person getting the jab. If anyone wants to frame that as being radical, divisive, ignorant, irresponsible or anti, then it tells you more about their frame of mind and proves the entire point that Dr Malone and Professor Desmet are making.
