385 Batangas cops get COVID booster shot


A total of 385 policemen assigned to the Batangas Police Provincial Police Office received their booster shot as part of the measure to increase the protection of the local police force against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Batangas provincial police director Col. Glicerio Cansilao said a total of 46 civilians also received the same free booster shot using Moderna that was held at Camp General Miguel Malvar in Batangas City.

Cansilao said the move is in response to the guideline set by the Department of Health for all fully-vaccinated individuals to get booster shot at least three months after the second dose.

"We need to ensure the protection of our men as frontliners in the government response to COVID-19," said Cansilao.

The move to have all policemen receive their booster shot came as cases of COVID-19 infection in the Philippine National Police (PNP) continue to rise.

Based on the PNP data, a total of 537 new cases were recorded in the PNP on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
