Metallica recently celebrated its 40th anniversary as a band with a concert, and they’re making sure that fans from all over the world can celebrate it with them.
Metallica held its four-decade celebration concerts for two nights last December 17 and 19 at their hometown in the Bay Area, in San Francisco’s Chase Center.
The anniversary celebrations for Metallica lasted a whole weekend that also featured other bands that included Tapei Houston which had Lars Ulrich son as member. A block party hosted by the city, a White Reaper and Kamasi Washington concert and even one by a tribute band, non-music related events and even film showcases were featured during the festivities in San Francisco, Rolling Stone reported.
The band, vocalist-guitarist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, bassist Robert Trujillo and drummer Lars Ulrich intended for the shows to be streamed for their fans to see.
Metallica’s 40th anniversary concert was initially made available only via The Coda Collection on Amazon, a video streaming platform that specializes on music related content.
Metallica partnered with the platform to make access to The Coda Collection streaming channel free starting Friday, Dec. 24, up until Monday, Dec. 27.
Metallica fans who are already subscribed to the Amazon Prime channel can get a 7-day free trial to Amazon’s The Coda Collection and watch “40 Years of Metallica” online. Fans who have neither subscription can try a 30-day free trial to Amazon Prime and then access the Metallica anniversary concerts on Coda for free.
There fans can access the full set list the band performed and some add-ons as well that includes bonus footage and additional exclusives.
