Sen. Imee in favor of ABS-CBN franchise renewal if Bongbong becomes president

Sen. Imee Marcos said Tuesday, Dec. 21 she would favor the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN Corporation when his brother wins the presidential election.

While she admitted that his brother said the company's executives "are our enemies," the senator asserted she is very "open minded" on the reopening the network "for a very simple reason" that she has "congenial" working relationship with them, especially when she was still the governor of Ilocos Norte.

"I had no problem at all ," Marcos said in an ANC interview.

"You know I've asked them for everything: help for the schools, help for the supply chains of the farmers...every single thing, they said yes to," she added.

According to Marcos, once ABS-CBN complies with all the requirements as defined by law and addresses the problems revealed, then she has no problem with renewing its franchise.

"Once we've solved all that, for me, I have no problem. Let's reopen the network within the first 100 days ," she said.
