Ruffa Gutierrez relives winning moment at 43rd Miss World pageant in Sun City, South Africa

Actress Ruffa Gutierrez relived the moment when she competed at the 43rd Miss World beauty pageant held in South Africa in 1993.

On Instagram, Ruffa recalled meeting American pop star Vanessa Williams who asked her the final question during the competition.

Ruffa wrote:

"November 27, 1993 : The day I met Vanessa Williams at the 43rd Miss World Beauty Pageant when she asked me “Miss Philippines, how would you tell a girl who is suffering from low self-esteem to feel better about herself?” My answer : “I would tell her to believe in herself because it’s not only physical beauty that’s important, it’s also inner beauty. Like what the Little Prince said, what is essential is invisible to the naked eye."

Ruffa won Second Princess in the prestigious beauty pageant.

The beauty queen-actress also remembered the time she joined the cast of "I Love Betty La Fea" on ABS-CBN which, in the US version of the show, was played by Williams.
