The shear line, also known as the tail-end of frontal system, is expected to bring rains over some parts of southern Luzon and Bico region within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

PAGASA advised those in these areas to remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides, especially during heavy rains.

Meanwhile, mostly fair weather conditions may persist across the rest of the country.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally called "amihan," may affect Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA, however, warned that severe thunderstorm activities may sometimes trigger flash floods or landslides.

It said that no gale warning is raised over the country's seaboards as of Saturday afternoon.

Moderate to rough seas may prevail over northern and central Luzon, while slight to moderate seas will likely persist over the rest of the country.

As such, sea travel is safe even for fisherfolk and others with small sea vessels, PAGASA said.
