The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) announced on Friday, Nov. 19, that they have vaccinated more than 500,000 against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) less than a week after reaching 400,000 administered doses.
In a statement, PRC said that as of Nov. 18, out of the 532,604 individuals vaccinated, over 246,248 are now fully vaccinated through the 25 Bakuna Centers, 17 Bakuna Buses, and deployment of 20 vaccination teams to Local Government Unit (LGU) run Bakuna Centers nationwide.
"Philippine Red Cross has been always first, always ready, and always there. We will continue to be the government’s ally when it comes to vaccination since the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has the manpower, the resources, and the commitment to help protect against this invisible enemy that is the COVID19 virus,” PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon said.
Gordon stressed the need for vaccination and the urgency for individuals to get vaccinated and reiterated that the best way to protect oneself is to get vaccinated. He said that their goal at the PRC is to vaccinate as many as they can and that they want to protect every Filipino to help curb the spread of COVID-19
PRC recently launched its pediatric vaccination for minors aged 12-17 years old two weeks ago and has now inoculated 1,894 individuals with vaccines Pfizer and Moderna. Meanwhile, the PRC EDSA Boni Bakuna Center has also begun to accept walk-in vaccinations
