Clean power producer Energy Development Corporation (EDC) will flush out ‘dirty energy’ in washrooms, as it cornered bathroom fixtures company Hocheng Philippines Corporation, also known as HCG, as a new client that it will be supplying with green energy from one of its geothermal power plants.

The Lopez-led firm emphasized that HCG had chosen “to follow the road that leads to sustainability,” and the power customer-firm will be achieving that goal via its choice of 24/7 green energy to power its operations.

Eugene Lin, senior vice president & officer-in-charge of Hocheng Philippines Corporation, noted that as their company builds on its ultimate goal “to pursue excellence in LEED-compliant products, we build better designs to reduce our overall impact on the environment and to support government projects towards sustainable development.”

HCG’s core business is into provision of quality bathroom fixtures as well as washroom solutions to every Filipino home – as that private space in the house, is not only a go-to place to clean up, but it is also a spot for family members to seek ‘solitude’, so they can wash away their worries or anxieties.

Lin said “Hocheng Philippines Corporation believes First Gen and EDC can help meet our goals by providing efficient electricity through their low carbon footprint resources.”

On the part of EDC, winning over a new customer like HCG into its fold, “makes the reality of decarbonization possible” – and this is a tough call for humanity to embrace, so disastrous climate warming can still be abated.

The power supply deal cemented between EDC and HCG had bee done within the ambit of Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) policy of the restructured electricity sector.

A media statement from EDC highlighted that “being a trusted brand with an unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, HCG also aims to build a better world where people can live in the future today and where anyone and everyone can look around them and proudly say: I can live here!”

The power firm conveyed that HCG aims to “elevate the lives of each Filipino and they are doing that through an 80-year-old story of excellence and timeless craftsmanship.”

EDC added “choosing the right energy partner allows them to move toward a future that goes beyond sustainability for them and for your precious bathroom.”
