Seven prisoners, four of them had been acquitted of their criminal charges, were released from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City last Oct. 18.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said that the three other PDLs released from CIW had finished their jail terms.

CIW Superintendent CTCInsp. Hylene C. Pancho signed the release orders of the seven PDLs.

“Through the efforts of CIW personnel under the External Affairs Section and the Separation Section, the released PDLs were given gratuity allowance for their transportation and referral letters,” BuCor said.

BuCor records showed that a total of 3,695 PDLs had been release from its various prison facilities in the country as of Oct. 29.

Aside from the CIW, the other Bucor prison facilities are the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, and the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP).
