Hearty meals for big-time cravings? This humble food brand deserves a spot on your table

The Hungry Sibs’ rich dishes are definitely turophiles’ dream eats

Baked, rich, savory, and filled with a variety of cheeses, those are the things The Hungry Sibs promises to bring to your table. And if you’re a true turophile, this humble online food business is worthy of a bookmark for your next at-home indulgence.

Established during the onset of the pandemic, The Hungry Sibs was founded by, well, siblings who share the same love for food and passion for cooking. Hennessy, Henrick, Hillary, and Hannah, much like the rest of the world, found joy in the kitchen during a time of crisis. Eventually, with free time in their hands, they were able to share their creations with many Filipino foodies in need of hearty comfort food.

“At the start, we were having difficulties with accepting large amounts of orders because we did everything manually,” Hennessy Anne Fong tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “Thankfully, one of us siblings graduated with a network engineering degree, so she was able to create an app that automates our ordering system. Another major challenge we encountered was finding the right supplier for the ingredients that can satisfy our quality standards.”

Quality is one of The Hungry Sibs’ top priorities. While the food they are offering came from their list of well-loved family meals, the siblings explored other ways and experimented on many recipes to make their products superb in taste but without losing their home-cooked characteristic.

“Our customers love our Smoky Baby Back Ribs that are so tender that they fall off the bone. The dish also comes with our special barbecue sauce,” Hennessy shares. “Another famous dish is our flaky and moist Parmesan-Crusted Salmon. And, of course, we are famous for our All-Beef Lasagna, which we believe is the creamiest one on the market!”

What not to miss as well is their Cheesy Bacon Baked Potatoes, featuring perfectly cooked potatoes covered in melted cheese with bacon bits adding sweet and salty notes to the already mouth-watering dish. While their Four-Cheese Nacho Bake, a great movie night treat, is made generously with beef, queso, and salsa. After a year of operating, their online food venue garnered over 4,000 positive reviews, which is a testament to their cooking expertise and masterful service.

“What makes us stand out from the market is that we make it a point that we give our customers their money’s worth, both in quality and in quantity. We first experiment on the recipe until we get the flavor that surpasses our standards as food enthusiasts ourselves. We only use fresh and the finest ingredients for our products,” Hennessy muses. “Furthermore, we don’t take shortcuts. We believe that good food takes time; hence, we cook every dish in its due time to let all those flavors seep into it. In terms of quantity, we provide generous servings that make our Hungry Buyers exclaim, ‘Sulit na sulit!’”

While they are already triumphant online, the siblings are still aiming to create a physical store where their patrons can come together and bond over their food. But for now, be sure to follow their brand on Instagram as they are cooking new offerings to add to their menu.

“The very reason why we opened The Hungry Sibs is for us to share good food that we enjoy as a family with other people,” Hennessy says. “We aim to become a part of other people’s homes—in their celebrations, gatherings, or even simply in their daily family meals. We want our food to serve as an instrument for families to strengthen their bond together and find joy and warmth with each other while enjoying a hearty meal together.”
