Tropical depression Lannie left the country's area of responsibility early Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, but a low pressure area (LPA), which has a potential to become a tropical cyclone, will likely enter by evening, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA said Lannie made its exit at around 5 a.m.

The effect of the tropical depression's trough or extension has weakened but may still bring scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Central Luzon, and Bicol Region in the next few hours.

Meanwhile, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said an LPA may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Wednesday evening.

He said the LPA, which was located at 1,525 kilometers east of Visayas at around 4 a.m., has the potential to become a tropical cyclone while still drawing strength from the warm sea surface.

Aurelio added that the next tropical cyclone inside the PAR will be named "Maring."

Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA advised the public to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides especially during the occurrence of severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by short-lived heavy rains.
