Guns N’ Roses drops new song ‘Hard Skool’

Things are picking up in the GNR camp. The band just released a rocking new original song titled “Hard Skool” this weekend.

The new release is a track from the band’s “Chinese Democracy” era and has just been revamped to include original guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.

Both were out of the band when Axl Rose’s version of Guns & Roses were writing material for the aforementioned album.

“Hard Skool” opens up with some rubbery bass rhythms from McKagan, eventually followed by the taut guitar sounds provided by Slash and Richard Fortus.

As the whole band falls in, it’s apparent that sonically and in form, “Hard Skool” recalls GNR’s “You Could Be Mine.”

Of course, the comparison is up for debate depending on how well one knows the band’s sound. But as far as new fans are concerned, “Hard Skool” is the latest rocker from the veteran hard rock band.

And that’s good news for Guns & Roses fans who have been aching for a while now to hear new material from Axl Rose and company. With two new singles in the span of months, the inevitable question is; are Guns & Roses setting up for a new album release?

That remains to be seen. For now, Guns & Roses is currently touring. Earlier this month, the band had Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters guest and play on “Paradise City.”
