QC tops list of LGUs with highest number of new COVID-19 cases - OCTA Research


Quezon City topped the list of local government units (LGUs) with the highest daily recorded number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, OCTA Research said Wednesday.

Citing data from the Department of Health (DOH), OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David shared a photo in a Twitter post listing LGUs with the highest recorded new cases of COVID-19, with Quezon City logging 1,015.

Quezon City was followed by Manila City with 336 new cases and Antipolo, Rizal province with 325 cases.

Over the past week, the Quezon City government reported COVID-19 outbreaks in an orphanage, three convents, and a seminary.

As of Sept. 23, the city has 11,360 positive COVID-19 cases, including workers and residents of the religious and long-term care facilities.

On Sept. 22, the DOH recorded 16,361 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.
