This Japanese canned beverage tastes like a probiotic drink, only more bubbly

A must-try on your next e-numan

Do you miss those crazy Friday nights when you're out with your friends sharing good booze and laughter until it is tomorrow? You're not alone. With our crazy times and the ever-changing community quarantines, it looks like having that kind of weekend is still far from where we are. But that doesn't mean that fun times with good drinks should end. After all, we still deserve it especially in the situation we have today.

Horoyoi's Hapikle drink

Now, if you're looking for a new drink to try on your next e-numan, this beverage is definitely a must-try. Not only does it taste good, it also has the right amount of booze to keep your spirit up without the nasty hangover.

One of Japan's top beverage brands, Horoyoi, brings the chu-hi experience to the Philippines with a new and exciting flavor, Hapikle. A play on the words “happy” and “bikkle,” the drink is a popular sour milk beverage among Japanese youth that is reminiscent of sweet probiotic dairy drinks in the Philippines. Much like the brand's other flavors, Hapikle has three percent alcohol content, making it a perfect guilt-free hangout essential to relax and blissfully unwind with at home.

"Our combination of refreshing flavors and low alcohol content make Horoyoi the perfect ready-to-drink beverage for light and casual drinkers who simply want to have a good time," said Jessica Loh, Horoyoi’s digital marketing manager for Southeast Asia. "With our new Hapikle flavor, we are excited to offer our Filipino fans a familiar taste from their childhood concocted with a smooth and gentle buzz that they can enjoy and appreciate as adults.”

Apart from the Hapikle, the brand also offers drinks in White Grape, Red Grape, Peach, and White Sour flavors. Their mild and pleasant taste is a welcome change from the bitterness of other strong liquors.

A can of Horoyoi costs around P57, and is available at SM, S&R, and Puregold grocery mart, and online through Lazada,, PandaMart, and GrabMart.
