For the first time, viral Filipino priest Fr. Ferdinand "Ferdi" Santos uploaded a video where he talked about the ongoing commotion about his photos and how he got infected with the dreaded COVID-19.
In an eight-minute video, Fr. Santos, who wore a face mask during his talk, said he declined interviews and appearances because he got infected by COVID-19 recently, but he is okay now.
Santos urged the people to get vaccinated and wear face mask during the pandemic.
He said that he was vaccinated in Miami, Florida in April. Despite that, he got infected.
The popular priest also lamented the fact that people focused on appearances instead of "what's inside" a person.
Santos said beauty is okay, but it is not important. "What's important is the interior, not the exterior."
A few days ago, Santos went viral when his younger-looking photos were shared on social media.
The priest said that these photos were taken in a span of 17 years, some of which were shot when he was still a student in Belgium.
Watch the video:
"This will be the only video I will be making. Let's focus on helping one another, keeping each other safe, and doing our part to defeat Covid-19 by wearing face-masks, observing social distancing at all times, washing our hands often, and above all, getting vaccinated. Stay safe everybody! God bless," Santos said. He also said that he doesn't want to be a vlogger.
Fr. Santos also said that he would hold online masses soon, as he encouraged the faithful to attend online masses of their parishes.
Santos said he came back to the Philippines to serve the poor parishes.
He also said that he is touched by his brothers in church who conduct charity activities for the poor at the height of the pandemic.
