'Stranger Things 4 ' teaser confirms 2022 airing

Ready to troop back to the town of Hawkins?

Well according to the new “Stranger Things” trailer that recently dropped, it won’t happen until next year.

Yes. In 2022.

But the good news is that the old gang is indeed coming back for its fourth season.

The Netflix series is a massive hit for the video streaming giant. A sci-fi adventure set in the 80’s, it follows the lives of a group of awkward, nerdy teenagers who stumbled upon a top-secret experiment on metahumans and interdimensional monsters around their hometown of Hawkins.

‘Stranger Things” have since made popular characters of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp), Dustin (Gaten Materazzo), Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour).

The first season 4 trailer reveal for “Stranger Things” from 2020 already revealed that Jim Hopper is alive and has been doing hard labor in an undisclosed prisoner camp. On said trailer, the area was revealed as another hotspot for an interdimensional gateway.

The season 4 sneak peek confirms that much of the characters have returned to the town of Hawkins, including a shot of the gang (some of them a bit grown up) entering a house that we bet they all shouldn’t be in. A quick shot of Jim Hopper also appears brandishing a flamethrower whom we surmise have escaped his captors and is getting to the bottom of the mystery. Eleven is also clearly seen with her hair all grown but being held back or being detained by what appears to be government agents.  A new character played by actress Grace Van Dien, who is described by Empireonline as the “most popular girl in school with a dark secret” will also be introduced in “Stranger Things 4.”

Strangely enough, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp), Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) Byers are nowhere to be seen in the new trailer.

Fans of the show are hoping that the new season of “Stranger Things” will be available on Netflix in January as a holiday treat. But until a proper date is announced, all fans can hope for is that the show starts, at least,  in the first quarter of 2022.
