Guns & Roses drop first single in more than a decade

Fans of Guns & Roses have been treated to a new track.

GN’R recently unveiled a new song titled “Absurd.”

The band played the hard-hitting new song in a show in Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts last August 3.

During the show, Axl said, “Some of you might have heard this under another name, but this is really kind of absurd to try this. Wasn’t that funny? And they don’t even know the joke yet. Okay, this is called ‘Absurd’.”

Right after the song, Axl added, “See? I never run out of love songs. That was fun. So you heard it here first, a new Guns N’ Roses song.”

“Absurd” was a song formerly known as “Silkworms” and versions of it have been played before by the band but was not formally released as a track.

“Absurd” has since been officially released as a single last August 6.

On the band’s official Facebook account, a post simply said: “New. Fn. Song.”

This is the first new track from Guns & Roses since Axl’s version of the band released the album “Chinese Democracy” back in 2008.

This is also the first track to be released by GN’R since founding members Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined the lineup in 2016 for the “Not In This Lifetime” Tour.
