Zack Tabudlo gets Times Square billboard, Rolling Stone magazine spot

Zack Tabudlo

Zack Tabudlo can’t believe it.  But there it is, his face on a Billboard on New York Times Square.

The billboard is part of Spotify’s push for its Global Radar artists campaign. Tabudlo was picked by Spotify to represent the Philippines alongside other new and rising music acts from other countries that include acts from the U.K. (Griff), Netherlands (Rimon), Korea (Ash Island), Canada (Babygirl), India (Abhilasha Sinha), Germany (Schmyt), France (November Ultra), Brazil (Rebecca), Poland (Julia Pośnik),

Tabudlo has the distinction of being the only Pinoy artist on this particular campaign by Spotify.

But it’s not like he hasn’t earned it.

Tabudlo recently had a string of singles that did very well on several key playlists on Spotify. One of them is “Binibini” that to date has over 39 million streams on the streaming platform.

The song “has broken a record as the longest-running number 1 local track by a Filipino RADAR artist on Spotify in the Philippines’ Top 50 Charts this year,” his press said. It also added that “Binibini” held the top position for six consecutive weeks.

To add to this Times Square billboard score, Tabudlo also got mentioned in an article in Rolling Stone magazine. Said article was a branded content press release about Spotify’s RADAR program. The title of the article read: 'Here Are Ten Songs From International Hitmakers That Should Be on Your Radar.'

Tabudlo posted a photo and a video of the Times Square billboard on his social media and was accompanied by a heartfelt thanks to his fans, the streaming platform and his label Island Records Philippines and MCA Music, Inc.

“I never imagined myself in a situation like this. In all my years of becoming a musician, this never passed my mind. I never thought this would be possible. A lot of doubts, struggles, and anxiety, goes into the process of reaching your dreams. I can now say that nothing is impossible.”
