Duterte-Duterte tandem top pick in OCTA survey

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and President Rodrigo Duterte led the list of Filipinos' top bets for president and vice president in OCTA's Tugon ng Masa 2022 national elections survey.

The survey was conducted on 1,200 respondents from July 12 to 18.

Duterte-Carpio was the most preferred candidate, with 28 percent of the respondents voting for her if elections were held on the day they were interviewed.

At 2nd place is former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. at 13 percent, followed by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at 3rd place (11 percent).

Tied at 4th place are Senator Grace Poe and Senator Manny Pacquiao with 10 percent each.

Vice President Leni Robredo and Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano were tied at 5th place, each with 5 percent.

Other preferred presidential candidates are Senator Christopher "Bong" Go (4 percent), Senate President Tito Sotto III (3 percent), Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson (2 percent), former Vice President Jejomar Binay (2 percent), Senator Richard Gordon (1 percent), and former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV (1 percent).

For vice president, President Duterte topped the list of preferred candidates with 18 percent.

He is followed by Domagoso with 11 percent, Cayetano (10 percent), Poe (10 percent), Marcos (9 percent), Sotto (7 percent), Pacquiao (6 percent), and Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero (5 percent).

Other preferred vice-presidential candidates were Go (4 percent), Lacson (4 percent), Trillanes (2 percent), Gordon (1 percent), Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar (1 percent), Senator Francis Pangilinan (1 percent), lawyer Chel Diokno (1 percent), Senator Ralph Recto (1 percent), Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres Gomez (1 percent), and Vice President Robredo (1 percent).
