Seventeen more persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were released from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City last Monday, Aug. 2.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said that those freed had served their jail terms and had been acquitted of their criminal charges.

Last July 31, the NBP also released three PDLS. BuCor said it has started collating records on how many PDLs had been freed for the month of July.

For the month of June 2021, BuCor said 565 PDLs had been released either on parole, had served their prison terms, or had qualified under the good conduct time allowance (GCTA).

“All those released underwent processes following the Covid 19 protocols before going home to their respective home towns,” it said.
