Occasional light to moderate rains with at times heavy rains are expected to prevail over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro in the next 24 hours due to the southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, July 31.

Cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms may also affect Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Calamian Island, and Antique.

The rest of the country will have fair weather due to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated afternoon or evening rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA advised the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides in low-lying or mountainous areas due to saturated soil after several days of continuous rains.

A gale warning remains in effect over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon and western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon due to rough to very rough seas associated with the southwest monsoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts were advised not to venture out into these seas while larger sea vessels were asked to be alert against big waves.
