Marikina City Public Information Office (PIO) said that all eight gates of Manggahan floodway are currently open.

At 12:07 a.m., first alarm was raised after Marikina River’s water level hit 15 meters.

Once it reaches 18 meters, third alarm will be raised, and forced evacuation will be conducted by the city government.

Before it reached first alarm, the city government has conducted preemptive evacuation due to continuous heavy rains and the rise of the river’s water level.

Continuous rainfall has left many areas in Metro Manila flooded.
