Warm and humid weather conditions with a chance of rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over most of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday afternoon, July 12.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said there is a slim chance that a tropical cyclone may enter the country's area of responsibility in the next three days.

In the next 24 hours, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Marinduque, Quezon, and Aurora may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Estareja advised those in these areas to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides as rains may become moderate to at times heavy.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may continue to experience warm and humid weather conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also advised the public to remain vigilant against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours.
