“You left too soon.”
This was how Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG) Chairman Jose Manuel “Chel” I. Diokno described the passing of former President Benigno S. Aquino III on Thursday, June 24.
“You served our country well, uplifted the lives of many Filipinos, and gave us a reason to dream of a better future,” Diokno said in his social media post.
“I remember how you stayed for more than an hour at Mom’s wake, reminiscing about our dads’ imprisonment,” he recalled.
“Rest In Peace and enjoy heavenly bliss, which you richly deserve,” he added.
Diokno was part of the “Otso Diretso” senatorial line-up of the opposition in the 2019 polls.
