ITCZ, localized thunderstorms to bring isolated rain showers over most of PH

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by PAGASA was last spotted at 1,270 kilometers east of Mindanao at around 3 a.m., Saturday, May 29.

PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said the LPA may enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Sunday, May 30 or Monday, May 31.

"Posibleng magdulot ng ulan sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao at Eastern Visayas, maging sa silangang bahagi ng Southern Luzon sa mga susunod na araw (It will possibly bring rains over some parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, as well as in the eastern part of Southern Luzon in the coming days)," Dela Cruz said in its daily weather bulletin.

"Although sa nakikita natin sa forecast models, posible lamang na baybayin nito ang karagatan sa silangan ng bansa at eventually magrerecurve papalayo sa bansa (Although from what we see in the forecast models, it may only traverse the ocean east of the country and eventually recurve away from the country)," she pointed out.

Dela Cruz advised the public to continue monitoring PAGASA updates regarding this weather disturbance.
