Corrections Chief Supt. Julie May Taguiam, former head of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), has been re-assigned to the national headquarters (NHQ) of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) in Muntinlupa City.
BuCor Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag on Monday, May 24, said Taguiam’s re-assignment was done after Corrections Technical Senior Superintendent Albert C. Manalo succeeded her as DPPF head.
“Sa NHQ na siya (Taguiam has been assigned to the BuCor NHQ),” said Chaclag, also BuCor’s spokesperson. He added BuCor has yet to decide what post would be assigned to Taguiam who is a lawyer.
The change in command in the DFFP management was held in a ceremony last May 19.
During the event, the DPPF said Taguiam was “awarded by the administration of DPPF the Plaque of Recognition for her invaluable dedication and commitment to service as the Regional Superintendent of this penal institution making DPPF one of the most active penal facilities of BuCor in terms of infrastructure projects, accomplishments, PDL releases, personnel welfare and development and programs related to reformation and rehabilitation of persons deprived of liberty.”
