A man who is engaged in a rent-a-car service has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for reportedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Pasay City.
Arrested by agents of the NBI’s Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD) was Richard Rana Castino. His identify was disclosed by NBI Officer-In-Charge Director Eric B. Distor.
Distor said Castino was apprehended in his office in Quezon City last May 12 on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents.
Immediately after his arrest, Castino was presented for inquest before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office for acts of lasciviousness and slight physical injuries and maltreatment under the Revised Penal Code (RPC), and for violating Republic Act No. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination, the NBI, in a statement, said.
The NBI said the alleged rape victim disclosed that Castino has been offering a rent-a-car service through Facebook and was contacted by her to take her to a friend in Pasay City last May 5.
It said that the supposed victim again sought the rent-a-car service of Castino last May 7.
“However, on their way home, the victim noticed that Subject Richard was driving towards a different direction and parked in a garage. Confused why they were there, the victim shouted at Subject telling him to take her home. But the subject just tapped victim’s legs and told her to relax. Subject Richard alighted from the car and forcibly took the victim in one of the rooms of a hotel in Pasay City,” the NBI said.
Out of fear, it said, the alleged victim decided to tell her parents of her ordeal. The parents sought the help of the NBI.
After getting the testimony of the supposed victim and a report from the NBI’s Medico-Legal Division, NBI-AOCTD agents proceeded with the arrest of Castino.
