A “pseudo dentist” has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

NBI Officer-In-Charge Director Eric B. Distor identified the suspect as Analiza M. Constancio who was arrested last May 11 during an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the NBI’s Agusan del Sur District Office (NBI-ADSDO).

Constancio was presented for inquest before the Agusan del Sur Provincial Prosecutor's Office for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9484, the Philippine Dental Act of 2007.

In a statement, the NBI said that “the operation stemmed from the information provided by the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) that the subject is engaged in the illegal practice of dentistry.”

Thereafter, it said the NBI-ADSDO set up an entrapment operation and proceeded to Constancio’s residence in Barangay Karaos with an asset who acted as “dental patient.”

“When subject Constancio failed to present any documents and valid professional identification card as professional dentist, NBI-ADSDO immediately placed her under arrest for the act of performing illegal practice of dentistry,” it said.
