Mayor Vico Sotto thanked celebrities Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis for donating P1 million to Pasig City’s COVID-19 vaccination program.
The mayor said Locsin and Curtis left a P1 million cheque in his office through Shop and Share.
“Shout out lang, shout out lang sa Shop and Share na nag-donate ng P1 million sa ating vaccination program. Sina Ate Angel Locsin at Miss Anne Curtis, nag-donate sila ng P1 million idadagdag po natin iyan sa vaccination fund natin (Shout out to Shop and Share for donating P1 million to our vaccination program-- Ate Angel Locsin and Miss Anne Curtis, they donated P1 million, we will add this to our vaccination fund),” Sotto said during a Facebook live on Monday (April 12).
“Thank you, thank you, mga 31 sila sa listahan, hindi ko na po mababanggit lahat. Walang fanfare, walang media (Thank you, thank you, there are about 31 of them on the list, I can't mention them all. No fanfare, no media).”
Sotto said that the city government of Pasig has ordered P400, 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
He also thanked all frontliners for their hard work and sacrifices during this pandemic.
“Sa lahat ng ibang tumutulong, alam ko man o hindi, of course, lalo na sa health care frontliners and other frontliners, thank you (To those who are helping, whether silently or not, of course especially the healthcare frontliners and other frontliners, thank you),” Sotto said.
Initially, Shop and Share, a joint project of Locsin and Curtis, sought to raise funds to help conduct COVID-19 mass testing in the country.
In 2020, Locsin's car and Curtis' luxury bag were auctioned at Shop and Share.
