Kakai Bautista on the Mario Maurer-issue: 'Anong gagawin ko iiyak ako?'

Kakai Bautista has seemingly mastered the art of dedma.

The actress-singer noted how she doesn't let herself affected by different controversies.

At least, not anymore.

“Anong gagawin ko iiyak ako? O isang araw lang ako iyak, tapos na,” she shared in a "24 Oras” interview.

"Kasi iyakan mo 'yan isang linggo, sa mga nangyari -- ma bwisit ka sa bahsers, jusko dai, masama 'yun sayo. Yung stress na dala ng mga bagay na yun, di ba? Number one ang stress that develops cancer cells. Alam natin yan! It triggers everything na kung ano man yung sakit mo dyan na hindi mo pa nakikita - it triggers everything!," she added. 

Recently, Kakai's name trended online after Thai hunk actor Mario Maurer's camp allegedly sent the actress’ agency a demand letter ordering her to refrain from using the name of Mario or referencing him directly or indirectly.

Kakai responded through her lawyers,  Marfil & Associates.

The local law firm noted they are “deeply alarmed” and “appalled” as to how a private letter, which “severely tarnishes” the reputation and image of Kakai by making her appear as a “deceitful, lying, and exploitative woman.”

They said that with the absence of a non-disclosure agreement and notwithstanding law to the contrary, Kakai is free to talk about her experience with the Thai star, which they noted is one of the effects of being a “public figure.”

“Nonetheless, our client has decided to totally dissociate herself from Mr. Maurer through all means and channels possible. In this regard, we have demanded from the alleged Attorney of Mr. Maurer’s agency to prove his identity and authority to send the Cease and Demand Letter on behalf of Mr. Maurer and the latter’s agency,” they wrote.
