Tate McRae out with new EP


Rising global star Tate McRae new EP sounds like how the world feels now: Melancholic.

R&B hues and mid-tempo trap tunes meet on Kate McRae’s new EP titled “TOO YOUNG TO BE SAD.”

Said EP was released recently and includes the young singer’s 2020 hit “you broke me first” (stylized as such). Said track has currently more than half-a-billion streams on Spotify alone. On YouTube, her official music video for “you broke me first” has already reached 84 million-plus views.

The rising global superstar’s new EP contains 6-tracks in all. Besides her 2020 breakout hit, previously released tracks “rubberband”, “r u ok”, “slower” are included in said eponymous release as well as two new originals.

In particular the moody, mid-tempo trap track “bad ones” that also came with a new music video. To date, said music video already has more than 3.6 million views since it was more than a week ago.

The other new track is the acoustic-tinged “wish i loved you in the 90s.”

Tate’s rising fame has taken her to a number one spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart as well as the a top spot on chart’s dance radio listing. The Calgary, Canada native recently performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last March 30.

But she has already performed on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and on MTV’s European Music Awards.

Not bad for McRae, who prior to exploding on the streaming platforms during the start of the pandemic of 2020 , was a second runner up on “So You Think You Can Dance.”
