The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will launch on Wednesday, Feb. 17 its national tax campaign for 2021, with the aim of raising at least P2 trillion.
The launching rites, to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, will be attended by no more than 20 business executives and government officials headed by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay.
The event will be open to the public nationwide via Facebook live streaming, on https//web.facebook.com events//290842019114895. Dulay has invited taxpayers to watch the gathering on social media.
He said the bureau resorted to a virtual conference as far as the tax campaign is concerned as a security measure against the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
"The public will be informed of the bureau's accomplishment and programs to increase tax collection and enhance services to taxpayers," Dulay said.
