Apart from its timeless aesthetic, the brand is known for its sustainability
Known for its timeless creations and minimalist aesthetic, London-based fashion brand COS is making its debut in the Philippines with the opening of its first store at SM Aura Premier in Taguig.
"Opening in the Philippines is an exciting step for the COS brand," says the brand's Asia Pacific managing director Christoffer Sellin. "We have been hoping to enter the market for some time and I think our new Manila store is a great place to start. I'm excited to see how new customers will engage with our brand and collections."
Apart from producing classic closet staples, the fashion label is famous for fusing its design with its sustainability initiative. Right now, one of its central goals is to reach 100 percent recycled, repurposed, or more sustainably sourced materials by 2030, if not sooner.
"Sourcing materials is hugely important, but to deliver meaningful impact we believe it is also essential to drive positive change in the communities we are a part of and throughout the product's life cycle," says Francesca Lilley, the brand's global head of sustainability.
Filipino shoppers can expect no less than that. The brand will mark its Manila opening with its spring/summer 2021 collection, featuring refined wardrobe items such as tailored sets, lightweight knitwear, and effortless blazers. The pieces of the collection are ethically-made with materials like organic cottons and recycled polyester. The brand also ensures to minimize the amount of fabric trashed while creating the line with its zero-waste knitwear set. Its jewelry pieces crafted from recycled yogurt pots are definitely must see.
