We have heard stories of some celebrities and their tantrums and booboos. (yung iba di sinasadya. Yung iba attitude talaga!) Let me share some of my personal encounters. (di ko nalang pangalanan, baka abangan ako sa kanto!)
The Young Star.
Valeen Montenegro and I hosted a reality search for new stars on TV5. One of the segments was our interview with a celebrity who would give tips to the show’s aspiring actors and actresses. At one episode, the staff invited a female young star for the segment. In fairness to her she arrived on time. But when we were about to start the interview, we noticed she was not on our set yet. (missing in action ang bagets!)
FU: (talks to Executive Producer) Sir EP nasan na si (name ng young star)?
EP: Make-up pa raw.
FU: Kanina pa sya dyan ha. (45 minutes na kaming nakastandy sa set ni valeen!)
EP: Di pa raw tapos.
FU: Sorry EP ha. medyo matagal na ha. At hindi pa sya Sharon Cuneta para hintayin ha. wait lang EP ha.
(go ako sa dressing room nya at nakita ko nagbino-blowdry pa ng stylista ng hair ng young star!)
FU: (talks to young star): Ay ate, ikaw nalang hinihintay ha. tigil na yang blowdry. Magpusod ka nalang. Kanina pa kami naghihintay sayo. (sabay walk out!)
(nawindang ang young star. fly sya agad sa set nang buhaghag ang hair!)
The Host.
In one of my past talk shows, the staff briefed me of my part for one episode, before rolling. (at nakalagay na yun sa script! But the other TV Host who was also part of the show, had a special request. (o baka demand ata!)
TV Host (calls the Executive Producer): Hello EP! Im on my way. What is my part in the show today?
EP: (explains his part and my part in the episode)
TV Host: Ah Talaga, Kay Fu talaga yung part na yun?
EP: Yes..
TV Host: EP, ako nalang yung kay Fu. I want that part.
EP: (nataranta) Ah sige…. Palit nalang kayo ni Fu… (takot ata sila kay TV Host!)
The Executive Producer approached me to inform me about the changes but before she could explain it to me, I said: “ Keri lang madame! Narinig ko sabi ni TV Host. Go lang!” (tsismosa rin talaga ako kasi narinig ko usapan nila! at naloka mga writers, nagreprint sila ng script!)
The Singer.
I was invited to host an awards night. I was sharing a dressing room with a male singer who was one of the performers for the event. (na laging isyu ang sexuality pero di umaamin!)
Singer: Fu, ganda ng hair mo. Ano ginagamit mo dyan sa hair mo para hindi bumabagsak?
FU: ay etong hairspray na ito. Tried and tested ko na yan. Lagyan ko lang muna wax hair ko. then lagyan ko ng hairspray na yan.
Singer: Ah talaga saan mabibili?
FU: (mentions the store.. ) Try mo yan. Bongga yan Bakla! (tinawag kong Bakla!)
(biglang napatingin sakin si male singer. naloka ako kasi di nga pala sya umaamin. At may mga tao sa dressing room!)
