During his meeting with the cityā€™s health department, Mayor Toby Tiangco said, they agreed that frontline health workers will be the top priority, to be followed by indigent senior citizens, other senior citizens, and other members of the indigent population.

Tiangco said, the following will also be prioritized:

ā€¢ Uniformed personnel, such as police, military, and firefighters

ā€¢ Teachers and school health workers

ā€¢ All national and local government workers in the city

ā€¢ Essential workers in agriculture, food, transportation, and tourism industries

ā€¢ Persons deprived of liberty and persons with disability

ā€¢ Residents living in crowded areas

ā€¢ Overseas Filipino Workers

ā€¢ Other workers

ā€¢ Students

Tiangco, in coming up with the list, said that the number of vaccine doses that will be coming soon is not yet enough to cover the cityā€™s 267,000 residents.

ā€œPinakauna ay ang ating mga public at private medical frontliners dahil sila po ang may pinakamataas na tsansa ng exposure sa COVID-19. Importante po na proteksyunan natin ang mga nag-aalaga sa atin (Our top priority will be our public and private medical frontliners because they have high exposure to COVID-19. Itā€™s important to protect those who take care of us),ā€ he said.
