The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) emphasized Wednesday that stricter internal cleansing will be enforced in a bid to weed out the undesirables in the agency.

PDEA Director General Wilkins M Villanueva stressed this in light of the arrest of Florencio Dolatre Jr., a PDEA agent, by joint police and PDEA operatives during a buy-bust operation on November 1, 2020.
He noted that “counter-intelligence reports showed that Dolatre is involved in illegal drug activities.’’
“The agency is conducting thorough investigation on Dolatre and his cohorts in illegal drug trade,’’ Villanueva said.
“The PDEA will not tolerate any misdemeanors and illegal acts by PDEA personnel because these can ruin the credibility and reputation of the Agency,” he added.
In wake of the incident, Villanueva warned his men that he will “not hesitate to arrest our agents and personnel who are involved in nefarious activities.”
