Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian did not mince his words as he called the attention of a North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) official for keeping the "problems" experienced by the motorists unattended for several years now.
Gatchalian in a Facebook post urged NLEX chief operating officer Raul Ignacio to "wake up and look at the buildup of cars in your interchanges leading into the city."
"Ikaw na lang po ata ang hindi nakakakita na malaki na ang problema (I think, you're the only who has not noticed that there is already a big problem). For you to tell me that I'm the only one complaining goes to show the company attitude towards this problem that I have bringing up to your attention for the past 7 years na," he said.
Gatchalian said that NLEX officials "were not attending the problems" even if they "had the chance these past years."
"Malaki na ang problema as (The problem is already big as) everybody is moving to cashless. Obviously, the first step in fixing this problem is to admit there is a problem," he said.
Gatchalian stressed that the "riding public of Valenzuela deserves better."
"Prepaid na nga ayaw pa niyo padaanin mga vehicles dahil none responsive mga RFID sensors niyo (You don't let the prepaid users pass even if your RFID sensors are non-responsive)," he said.
"How can we start solving the problem when to begin with your boss refuses to even admit na may (that there is a) problem," he added.
