200 families affected by Quezon City fire


About P1.5 million worth of properties was destroyed by a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Sauyo in Quezon City Friday morning (November 27).

According to the public information office of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Metro Manila, the fire started at around 8:18 a.m. at the two-storey house of 58-year-old Renato Margon.

The fire immediately spread and reached Task Force Alpha around 9:33 a.m. About 200 families, mostly information settlers, were affected.

A total of 81 firefighters from the Quezon City Fire District (QCFD) as well as volunteers were deployed to put out the flames.

QCFD fire marshal S/Supt. Joe Bangyod declared fire out at around 10:53 p.m.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
