CAGAYAN -- A farmer found an unexploded ordnance (UXO) near the Cagayan river in Barangay Linao West in Tuguegarao City on Tuesday.
A report from the Police Regional Office 2 stated that a farmer who was gathering firewood saw the 52-inches bomb weighing about 1,000 pounds or 500 kilos.
Probers said the bomb may have been washed away by the rising water of the Cagayan river which led to the widespread flooding in the province during typhoon Ulysses.
Lt. Col.Andree Abella, Police Regional Office 2 Information officer, said that the UXO was already brought to the ammo dam in PRO2 for temporary storage.“We are still waiting for the approval of disposal in Capas, Tarlac,” Abella said.
