The effect of the tail-end of cold front or the boundary between cold northeast monsoon and the warm easterlies has weakened but may still affect Bicol region and Eastern Visayas within the next 24 hours.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday said the tail-end of cold front may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterly winds may prevail over Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Island, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains may also affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the amihan, PAGASA said.

Due to the prevailing amihan, some parts of the country may begin to have slightly lower air temperatures in the coming days.

In the next four days the forecast air temperatures are 23-31 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 13-23 degrees Celsius in Baguio City, 21-29 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay City, 25-32 degrees Celsius in Cebu City, 18-33 degrees Celsius in Valencia City, and 25-34 degrees Celsius in Davao City.

However, because of the surge of northeast monsoon, a gale warning was still in effect on Tuesday.

PAGASA said strong to gale force winds are expected to affect the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas, seaboards of Northern Luzon, and eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.

As rough to very rough seas may prevail over these coasts, PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small boats not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels were asked to remain alert against big waves.
