The Manila Hotel joins Manila Restaurant Week

Apart from all its historical landmarks and tales to tell, the City of Manila is also home to some of the best restaurants in the metro. From humble street food favorites to continental cuisines, there are more of the city’s plated treasures to discover.

But the pandemic has changed the dining atmosphere in the city. To help bring the restaurant industry back on its feet, Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, together with the Bureau of Permits and City Government of Manila, has launched Manila Restaurant Week, which unfolds from Sept. 20 to 27.

“We want to showcase and remind every Manileño, life goes on, businesses must be sustained,” Mayor Isko says. “This restaurant week is one of those symbolic simple little ways of your city and the national government to really push ourselves for a better tomorrow.”

In line with the “Manila, Support Local” campaign, the city-wide project aims to promote local food establishments in Manila that have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. About 80 restaurants will be offering prix fixe menus at affordable prices, among them is The Manila Hotel’s Cafe Ilang-Ilang.

Apart from its vintage beauty, The Manila Hotel, through Cafe Ilang-Ilang and its many other specialty restaurants, is a foodie destination with a buffet that is worth the trip. Whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the spread doesn't disappoint.

For restaurant week, Cafe Ilang-Ilang is bringing out the best of its favored offerings, from savory dishes like Spinach-ricotta ravioli in light parmesan cream sauce and pomelo-prawns lumpia in calamansi honey dressing to main courses such as beef tenderloin in balsamic glaze with marble potato and pampano cooked in tandoori oven with peas pilaf rice. Diners can also satisfy their sweet craving with fresh fruits salad with ube ice cream and mango panna cotta.

Just like many food establishments, the hotel and all its outlets operate in strict compliance to health protocols, so diners are assured of the highest standards of food safety and sanitation in accordance with the government guidelines.

“I believe we can do a lot in restoring the City of Manila to its former glory under the leadership of Mayor Isko Moreno,” says Atty. Joey Lina, The Manila Hotel president. “We in the private sector will always support you in this very worthwhile undertaking. Soon, Manila will be great again.”

The Manila Hotel starter-main-dessert set is offered at only P980 nett per person, but cannot be availed of in conjunction with other promos or discounts.
